I had some turmeric roots that I had bought in the supermarket in Mauritius and was greatly looking forward to using them once I had finished the powdered stuff from the supermarket.
I dry roasted the roots to bring the flavour out,
Then put them into the grinder…
There was a horrible noise…
The plastic bit that holds the grinder blade has shattered.
I had a little ground turmeric for the curry I was cooking.
The roots are rock hard, absolutely solid. I may try them in a pestle and mortar, or I may just go and buy a bag of turmeric powder.
And I need to buy a new spice grinder.
