Elsewhere in Food Blogsphere – May

I seem to spend a large proportion of my waking hours thinking about food, reading about food, preparing food and eating said food.     When I am not in food mode I am knitting, sewing or asleep.

Here are a few recent posts that have caught my eye that I hope to persue or cook later this month.

Nutrition Unplugged has written about how fresh green chickpeas are the new edamame.   I love edamame and adore chickpeas, I just need to source some in the UK now.

The Happy Herbivore has made butterbean cookies.  I have made two versions of black bean brownies and following on with bean cookies seems perfectly logical to me!

I am delighted that Everyone Likes Sandwiches has solved my cabbage problem with a feta and lime cabbage slaw as well as a host of other cabbage recipes.

A Rather Unusual Chinaman has made Gin & Tonic Gummy Sweets!  I think that these are a must make and I am pondering making a sloe gin version?

Finally my sourdough starter has started a family and has a baby that is being lovingly cared for by Fingers and Toes,  here is her sourdough breakfast with homemade marmalade.

  • I wonder if the gin and tonic sweets can be made with vegetarian jelly? Probably not, it doesn’t tend to get along with alcohol.

    Those chickpeas look amazing.

Really impressed with this @rodandbens Thai chicken soup. Delicious. Organic also means free range happy chickens too.
