Ooooh! I would love to win this! My daughters school is the only infant school to be have “Fair Trade Status” in our area and this would really help me out for when I have to make buns and cakes for school!

  2. Mememememe!

My favourite spice is cinnamon, but it has to be the super-high-quality stuff from Sri Lanka.

I’m following you and Steenburgs and I think I would have to pick the Spices for Vegetarians if I was to pick just one product!

  3. I think mine may be nutmeg – it’s underrated for savoury dishes.

  4. I love the way ground coriander seed adds depth to stews and sauces, but strangely enough, I’m not over keen on fresh coriander.

  5. Following both @fussfreeflavour and @steenbergs – always pleased to discover new foodie people :-D

  6. Really hard to pick just one product from Steenbergs, but I’ll go for Lebanese Seven Spices or 7 Spices as a fantastic all rounder http://www.steenbergs.co.uk/product/661/lebanese-seven-7-spices-blend-organic-arabic/10/49

vanilla blossom candle, just love candles.

  8. Elaine Livingstone says:

home grown mint….can do so much with it fresh, including peppermint tea

  9. Elaine Livingstone says:

    following both and tweeted @pooohbear2811

  10. Ooh, flowery things. What do you use larkspur for in cooking?
And zaatar. My colleagues almost came to blows when we were given a big bag to share out once.
How do you pick a favourite? I think mine may be the vanilla, our supermarket never seems to have the good stuff these days.

  11. Celery salt is an excellent way of adding some flavour to all types of savoury dishes. I started using it about a year ago and cant imagine how I managed without it for so long.

  12. I love spices. I love lots and lots of them… who can resist the warmth of cinnamon and cloves, the fiery bite of ginger and chilli, the earthiness of turmeric…?

I love herbs too… mint infusions, rosemary potatoes, tarragon sauce…

BUT my favourite of all is coriander. It’s really one of those love or hate flavours too – I know lots of people find it “soapy”. But I adore it, I find it’s flavour almost addictive and so vibrant and unique. If there’s any in the house (or on someone’s chopping board) I can seldom resist stuffing entire bundles into my mouth, chewing the coriander cud like some satisfied bovine!

I love it as a garnish and flavouring, of course it’s used a lot sprinkled over finished dishes.

But I love it most of all in coriander chutney, where it is the dominant flavour, together with a little mint and either some green apple or raw green mango for bulk. A few supporting spices and that’s it. It’s the star of the show!

  13. Oh and I visited their website, my favourite product, or rather the one I’d most like to try: Steenbergs Organic Lebkuchen Spice Mix

  14. OK, here it is, the third entry, I follow you on twitter! *wave*

  15. For me it’s cumin. So aromatic, so much power and refuses to be tied to one particular cuisine. Warming and savoury.

  16. My favourite spice, hmm. At the moment I think it’s asafoetida. Smells awful but really makes a difference to a home made curry.

  17. And after visiting their website, I’d most like to try their chilli salt.

  18. My favourite has to be cumin, I use it wherever possible!
What a great prize this is :)

  19. So many lovely products on the website, but as Winter draws near it has to be the Mulling Wine spices!
