Happy 2nd birthday p/hop!

As some readers and twitter followers would have realised, as well as cooking and eating,  I also knit.

The lovely @gingerknits the energy behind, and the face of @msf_phop asked me to write a guest blog post to celebrate p/hop’s 2nd birthday.    I was delighted to share my double chocolate madeleine recipe with them.

For those not in the know p/hop stands for pennies per hour of pleasure and is a knitting fund raiser for Médecins Sans Frontières.  Designers donate knitting patterns, knitters download the patterns, knit them and then make a donation based on how many hours of pleasure they have obtained from knitting the pattern.   It is a simple, but highly effective idea, in two years just under £20,500 has been raised!   It is a fantastic initiative and only possible through the generosity of designers and knitters.     Irish and American knitters can also join in via p/hop Ireland or America.    What better excuse is there to cast on another item – or to get back into knitting?
