The blog backlog continues. I have somehow lost a week of my life and totally forgot that it is National Curry week this week (who decides these things I do not know).
Happily Curry Week has 2 days left to run and in my opinion Friday or Saturday nights are the best nights for a curry, Cobra have a curry finder to enable you to find your nearest Indian Restaurant.
If staying in and cooking is more your thing, Cobra Beer, who are sponsoring Curry Week have some mouth watering curry recipes, including a scrumptious Chicken Naag by Anjum Anand, of Indian Food Made Easy and I Love Curry fame. I can vouch for Anjum’s cooking skills as I recently was sent a copy of the excellent I love Curry and want to cook everything in it.
Also of interest to cooks is a selection of spiced up British classics by Pat Chapman, some of which I think have been given a very clever twist.
I love the idea of the Devonshire Cream Chai, a traditional cream tea with a twist; ginger scones, cardamon clotted cream and a chilli jam.

Other ideas include a beer & coriander spicey Welsh Rarebit, a Lancashire Hot Hot Hot Pot and a Bakewell tart with Indian fudge and ginger.
I think that the recipes are well written; albeit slightly pun-tastically, with some great flavour ideas. Additionally there is some interesting history and facts about the original dishes. All the recipes can be found here and are are well worth a look.
Thanks to Cobra for the free beer samples to accompany my curry this week!
