Review & Giveaway: Jordan’s Creations Granola & Emma Bridgewater Bowls

This giveaway has now closed.  Thanks to everyone who took part.

Please see my giveaways page for winners and more competitions!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to a pop-up breakfast club to launch the new Jordan’s Creations oat granola.  I am the number one supporter of breakfast so immediately accepted the invitation.

A group of bloggers gathered in East London at the fabulous Leluu’s house where she runs her supper club.

We tasted both the granolas.   I enjoyed both of mine with yoghurt (I do not do cow milk),and found that both were delicious; but I do think that I preferred the cranberry and honey to the apple and cinnamon.   The oats are mixed with honey and toasted, resulting in the tasty crunchy clumps of granola.

All the Jordan’s range, including the new Creations granola, are made using whole grains, with no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, or GMOs.   All British ingredients are grown on Conservation Grade farms, supporting more wildlife than conventional farms.

Jordan’s are looking to expand their range of Creations granola flavours and are looking for suggestions of what you would like to see in your bowl at breakfast time.   We were given bowls of all sorts of nuts, seeds, dried and fresh fruit and encouraged to experiment with flavours.

My initial idea was for apricot and chocolate!  But there are a few problems with this, as much dried fruit is has sulphur dioxide added.  This acts as a preservative (unnecessary) and in the case of apricots also preserves their rich colour.    As  Jordan’s do not use preservatives they would only unsulphured apricots that are far darker in colour, and apparently less attractive to many consumers.    I think that the unsulphured ones taste far better and am more than happy to ditch the preservatives and forsake the more attractive colour.   I am also going to swap the chocolate for unrefined cacao nibs, and the honey for maple syrup to make the granola vegan friendly.     Hopefully Jordan’s will love my idea and if I am lucky I may even see apricot, cacao nib and maple syrup Creations granola on sale at some point in the future.

Jordan’s creations are available in two flavours; juicy cranberry & golden honey or baked apple with a hint of cinnamon.   RRP is £3.49 for 500g, currently on sale at Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons and will be in Tesco from next month.

I am delighted to have a breakfast hamper worth over £65; with 1 of each of the new creations granola, and a pair of pink hearts Emma Bridgewater bowls and matching spoons, for one lucky reader.
