At the class I was promised a seasonal box or two, filled with lovely goodies to cook.
The contents of the last box I received are pictured above. It contains everything you need for (an early) Christmas dinner (bar the spuds), plus recipes from Marco and a meat thermometer so you can check the turkey is cooked!

It was my son’s first Christmas last year so we started many of our traditions then. An important one for me was going to choose the Christmas tree together as a family and creating his first stocking and knowing that I will put some of the items in every year.
This hamper looks fab…
One of our traditions has to be going to the Family Christmas Eve service at our local church… followed by a quick drink in the pub next door and then posh sausage and mash with onion gravy for tea. Delicious… and so Christmassy!
We always have lamb for Christmas ‘for a change’ because not everyone likes turkey!
Although I would rather have turkey as I hate lamb!
We have a Christmas stocking crocheted from “granny squares” that one of my daughters was given by her grandmother when she was a tot. It always has to sit beneath our tree. Now the girls are in their thirties and I have a granddaughter of my own, but every Christmas they expect to see that stocking in its usual place.
Going home to Cardiff to see my friends, have celebrated with them for nearly ten years, it’s my favorite time of the season.
I make a hamper with new PJ’s, a DVD, sweeties, 1 present and hot chocolate in it. We open the hamper on Christmas eve and curl up with the children and watch the DVD which is always a Christmas Movie !! then early up to bed ready for Christmas day !! xx
We always open 1 present on christmas eve to get the kids happily to bed. I also have 2 starters for my christmas dinner which are prawn cocktail and egg mayonaise. i can never choose lol x
Even though the kids are teenagers now (16 and 17), we still go to the cinema as a family to see a “Christmassy” film every Christmas Eve. It starts our festivities off brilliantly and it’s just so nice being together.
Great hamper. Would love it :)
We normally have duck for xmas dinner, turkey too dry for us.
Father Christmas is taking our daughter to Florida for her main xmas present :)
You might want to try Phil Vickery’s way of cooking the turkey. It’s foolproof and you get to feel like a magician every time! The gravy is out of this world and the turkey is moist throughout. All the best.
having a glass of irish cream in the afternoon
A tradition in our family for the children’s amusement. Is where Santas cookie and glass of milk was set the night before. Is to sprinkle flour from there to the fireplace and walk to and from with boots on, so the children think he came in and left snow behind. It works until they about 6 years old.
we always open one present on xmas eve
me and my lovely hubby always open our pressies xmas eve when the kiddies are in bed,it our special “us time” so that when xmas day comes we can focus all our attention onto our 3 beautiful children, happy xmas everyone hope u have a good one xxxxxxxxxx
Before each person goes to bed on Christmas Day they hide a little gift in the tree for every member of the family to open on Boxing Day after breakfast.
Our favourite Christmas tradition is visits from one of Santas elves.
Ours is called Elfis & he visits once or twice a week through December.
Sometimes he leaves a little treat, a message from santa to be better behaved or to keep up the good work. He always has a picnic with my sons teddies, leaving the remains to be found in the morning. Sometimes he plays a trick or two.
On Christmas Eve, Elfis always leaves a new pair of pyjamas, ready for Christmas day & a treasure hunt, to keep my son occupied whilst we are doing all the last minute jobs.
We all look forward to Elfis visiting us!
Church for midnight and champagne in the morning with presents. And chestnuts and mushrooms and roast parsnips for lunch. I love Christmas.
I’m slightly baffled by the single seasonal banana?
My tradition is to eat so much that I can’t move from the sofa!!
Chicken with christmas dinner
Let my daughter open one present just before she goes to bed.
