This summer Apetina ran a series of summer salad challenges where bloggers were asked to create a themed salad using an Apetina product. Each week four salads were listed on Facebook where Apetina fans could vote for their favourite and were entered into a draw to win a picnic hamper or BBQ.
I loved the campaign, as the bloggers were paid for their work, and because the prize draw was for voting in the competition, rather than for the top salad there were none of the usual issues with voting competitions. If only more brands ran a competition like this!
The salads created for the campaign used a range of Apetina products, from the classic blocks and cubes, to the flavoured snack packs (which are great for pic-nics).
The weekly themes and winners were:
Week 1 – Classics with a Twist American Style Chopped Sald with Apetina
Week 2 – Snazzy Showpiece Salads Caramalised Red Onion Tarlet Salad
Week 3 – Lively and Leaf-free Hearty Potato Egg & Potato Salad
Week 4 – Keeping the Kids Happy Summer Suncatcher Salad
Week 5 – Salads For Picnics Fresh and Zingy New Potato Salad
Week 6 – BBQ Bonanza Crispy Bacon and New Potato Salad
Huge congratulations to all the winning salads, I was delighted to see creations by blog buddies Sarah, Katie and Jac, although I would have liked my Apetina No-Prawn Cocktail to have won the popular vote.
I also love the look of the Summer Suncatcher Salad a fruity delight of strawberries, apricots and cherries topped with cubes of Apetina.
As well as the summer salad recipes, if, the weather ever improves you might find the Apetina BBQ Club useful. It is a Facebook where everyone coming can select what they will bring along, hopefully ending those annoying situations where you have 100 sausages but no beer, or the other way round.

I love your no-prawn cocktail. Genius idea. I totally missed all of this otherwise I would have voted. Well done and as you say, a well run event and nice to hear of bloggers being paid!
Nice post, love no prawn cocktail idea will have to check these out. Did they provide ingredients as well as pay?
Paid for entire thing. I funded ingredients.
