Coffee is an essential in this household. Before the morning cup, voices are hushed and eye contact avoided; we need the daily caffeine shot to kick start us into action. We were therefore very happy to receive a sample of three coffees from the York Coffee Emporium.
The York Coffee Emporium is a small roaster and coffee shop in York, offering a range of freshly roasted coffee (each available in whole beans and a range of grinds), green coffee for those who roast at home, teas, and equipment. We do like the fact that the date of roasting is printed on the package, so you can see exactly how fresh your coffee is.
York Coffee Emporium – Malawi Pamwamba AA
We found this to be lightly acidic, even citrussy, with fruity apple flavours. Soft and light. £4.75 / 200g
York Coffee Emporium – Cuban Serrano Superior
Light and smooth; we have to admit that this was our least favourite of the three. But if, unlike us, you don’t like stronger flavoured coffees, then this may well be exactly your sort of thing. £4.50 / 200g
York Coffee Emporium – Christmas blend
This was our favourite, strongly flavoured with rich, fruity toffee loveliness! £4.50 / 200g
We prefer our coffee in beans which stay nice and fresh until you’re ready to use them; we use a Cuisinart spice and nut grinder to grind ours. (Reviewed here)
Fuss Free Flavours received a selection of coffee to try. We were not required to write a positive review. Thank you for the samples.
