[...] The blog backlog continues. I have somehow lost a week of my life and totally forgot that it is National Curry week this week (who decides these things I do not know). Happily Curry Week has 2 days left to run and in my opinion Friday or Saturday nights are the best nights for a [...] [...] Here in the UK, my autumn memories are not of Halloween but rather of Guy Fawkes, bonfires and fireworks; my birthday falls a few days after bonfire night so when I was a child I always had my party to coincide with the ready made entertainment of the village fireworks party. Due to increasingly restrictive [...] [...] I have been tardy with my blog of late, I had most of August off, for most of September I was eating my way though the store cupboards and not really cooking anything that exciting, so I really should have caught up on my reviews by now. I would like to stick to my ideal [...] [...] Wordles are sophisticated tag clouds using your choice of text, or text from a site or page. The one above was made from Fuss Free Flavours last year. They are great fun to play with and are strangely addictive. There are some fantastic examples in the Wordle Gallery. [...] I was sent a pair of tickets to the Allergy and Gluten Free Show last weekend. I do not consider myself to be very allergic (apart from a lingering suspicion that either dairy or lactose mildly disagrees with me – more of this at a later date) and I am not gluten free. However, [...] [...] I very briefly got to meet Gary Rhodes last week as he was at a meeting in my office. Unfortunately I had little time to chat with him, but he kindly posed for a photo and signed my much used and food splattered copy of Sweet Dreams – the photo on the front makes me [...] [...] I had some turmeric roots that I had bought in the supermarket in Mauritius and was greatly looking forward to using them once I had finished the powdered stuff from the supermarket. I dry roasted the roots to bring the flavour out, Then put them into the grinder… There was a horrible noise… The plastic [...] [...] |
