Nine times out of ten we go the the cinema on a Wednesday to take advantage of the long running Orange Wednesdays with 2 for 1 cinema tickets and pizza from Pizza Express. Of course the evening that we went to see Chef, we had a light supper at home and then went to the late film. Cue rumbling tummies.
Chef is as much about social media as it is about the food. Chef Carl Casper receives a damming review from a food blogger, quits his job, sets up a food truck selling Cubanos (toasted Cuban sandwiches) with huge success, mainly thanks to his young son’s Tweets and Vines from the back of the truck.
To celebrate the film, and to assuage any rumbling tummies I have come up with this recipe for pulled pork burgers filled with spicy pulled pork and topped wtih maple candies bacon. Like all the best street food the key is in the preparation – cook the pork in advance and then just refry it and assemble the burger to serve to quickly feed a hungry crowd.

This is a recipe commission for Vue Cinemas. Recipe, images and styling my own.
The delightful pig burger topper was made with my Cricut Explore – full review coming soon.
