I am well aware that there are three simple steps to take each day to help me feel amazing, which I think can help any freelancer working from home.
Follow my one simple mantra for healthy eating – Eat a generous portion of (raw) vegetables with every meal whenever you can – I aim for at least 7 a day, vegetables rather than fruit to avoid blood sugar peaks and troughs from the fruit sugars. My Froothie blender and Fresh Express are great tools for preparing vegetables and making it easier to eat them raw.
Get out of the flat and get some exercise in the daylight. Easily said, and in theory easily done, but on bright days in the winter I am working and photographing, and so often I have to hang around waiting for a delivery.
Get more sleep. I am plagued by insomnia, it comes and goes in waves and at the moment I am having a bad patch. My bedroom is great, dark curtains, comfortable bed and bedding, and I try not to have any screen time for 45 minutes before bed. I tend to sleep very well at about the time I should be getting up, and need to work on getting up earlier, which in theory should make me more tired at night time and better able to sleep?
