December is very very nearly here and I have a lovely infographic from the folks at Just Ingredients to share today, with some delicious ideas of how to add some extra flavour to your meals this Christmas.
Here are some of my ideas on how to use these different spices and herbs
Cinnamon – in spiced sourdough buns
Nutmeg – in my carrot cake baked oatmeal pots
Cloves – in my spiced pears and plums in port
Star Anise – in Asian style pulled pork
Vanilla – in a creamy vanilla fudge
All Spice – in a spiced pumpkin, sweet potato and carrot soup
Thyme – in a blackberry and apple sorbet
Rosemary – in roasted new potatoes with capers and olives
Ginger – in a marinade for plank BBQed fish
Basil Salt – in a risotto, or sprinkled on a simple dish of pasta and good olive oil.
