It is a sign that I was a teen in the 1980’s that every time I open a pot of GLORIOUS! soup I channel my inner Duran Duranette and sing “Gl-gl-gl-gl-Glorious!”.
The range of soups are inspired by travel, and aim to transport you to a distant shore, busy market or far flung corner of the globe at first spoonful bY featuring authentic ingredients, recipes and big flavours from each destination. With over 15 soups in the range there is sure to be something to appeal to everyone, and Glorious! caters for all tastes and diets with the range including 5 vegan, and 10 gluten free soups. Ingredients are natural with no additives or artificial ingredients.
Tuscan Chicken & Orzo – was rich, chunky and filled with a selection of vegetables and bursting with ripe tomatoes. I served it with a sprig of basil and a simple salad panzanella, and was transported to a Tuscan hill top town.
Vegan and gluten free Mumbai Chickpea & Lentil was thick chunky and satisfying. Nicely, but not overly spiced, and perfect for a dull winter lunchtime. Have a whole pot, or share and accompany with a nan bread.
Richly coloured New England Butternut Squash soup was velvet smooth and lightly spiced with cumin. It evoked the colour of autumn leaves and their crunch underfoot. Served with a squeeze of lemon and some homemade sourdough toast.
Vegan, gluten free, low calories skinniLicious Singapore Crushed Tomato was flavoured with coconut and zingy lemon grass, and had some added balsamic rice. Gentle, soothing and warming.
Vegan Mexican Tomato & Fire Roasted Peppers enlivened with lime was deep and intensely tomato flavoured. We love the Mariachi band on the label. It’s limited edition so grab one whilst you can!
Our favourite so far is the Fragrant Thai Carrot, a light skinny soup with a huge depth of flavour from the addition of coconut, lemon grass and a gentle chilli kick! Simply lovely.
GLORIOUS! soups come in 600g pots, so are more than enough for one on their own, or for two as an accompaniment. Get them from the chiller cabinet in most supermarkets – the range varies from shop to shop – the price is around £2.20 – £2.30 depending where you shop, and they are frequently on offer at half price or better. They have a good shelf life so will keep in the fridge for a few weeks unopened, and of course once opened can be frozen.
Now because an earworm is better shared, enjoy some Gl-gl-gl-gl-Glorious Duran Duran!
We received product vouchers and this post was commissioned by GLORIOUS! soup. All opinions our own.
