Here are a few ideas for my favourite products via mail order. Perfect for sending to the food lover in your life that you are not going to see at Christmas time.
I love the selection kits from Steenbergs, who stock a vast array of Fairtrade and organic spices, teas and baking ingredients. They have every spice that you will ever need (plus a few you would have never heard of) in stock. The kit above is £12.99. Perfect for any cook, and a great encouragement to chuck those stale spices that have been in the cupboard for years away. I especially love that the jars stack and do not fall out of the cupboard when you open the door!
I love the brownies, from a secret family recipe, baked by Michelle at Utterly Scrummy. She has 3 types with prices from £9.95 for 6 to £17 for 12, depending on the type. With all the extra food most people have in over Christmas I would send a voucher that the recipient can cash in at a later date. Perfect for a cheering up or congratualtions present.
I rarely see eye to eye with Giles Coren, but I have to agree with him that the Pork Pies from Samphire shop are the best that I have ever had, I rate them 12/10. It is too late for an order for this Christmas, but I would love a gift voucher from some to be delivered after the Christmas food has been finished. 6 x 170g pies £15.50. Delicious. I am unsure if I like the plain or onion marmalade the most.
Brown & Forrest’s smokery is just down the road from Ed’s parents’ so we are regular visitors. I recommend everything that they produce. Smoked eel is their speciality, which I admit is a love or hate product, which we adore. If you are in Somerset go and visit and have lunch.
