These sweet biscuits are easy to make and delicious. Chocolate and cranberries add to the Christmas flavour of the cinnamon and sugar dusting.

Ingredients
Biscuit ingredients
  • 150 g sugar (golden caster)
  • 100 g butter (softened)
  • 1 egg
  • 175 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 50 g cranberries (dried)
  • 50 g chocolate chips
Rolling mixture
  • 25 g sugar (golden caster)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 180°C (Fan oven)/Gas mark 6.

  2. Cream together the sugar and butter: this is easiest to do with an electric hand mixer. Add the egg and mix together.

  3. Chop the cranberries so that they're each cut into about quarters.

  4. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, cranberries and chocolate chips. Mix all together until well combined.

  5. Mix the rolling mixture of sugar and cinnamon on a dinner plate.

  6. Shape balls of dough about 2.5-3 cm in diameter. Roll in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

  7. Place the balls on a silicon mat on a baking sheet, about 10cm/4 inches apart.

  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
