Chili seasoning
Chili seasoning mix saves both time and effort when making a chili. Adjust the mixture to your taste for the perfect warming bowl of chili exactly as you like it.
Servings: 0.5 cups
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp ground coriander
- 1 tbsp crushed chillies
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 2 tsp hot chilli powder
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cardamon
Add all the ingredients to a bowl, give a good mix
2 tbsp smoked paprika, 2 tbsp ground cumin, 2 tbsp ground coriander, 1 tbsp crushed chillies, 1 tbsp oregano, 2 tsp hot chilli powder, ½ tsp ground cinnamon, ½ tsp ground cardamon
Transfer to an airtight storage jar (a jam funnel really helps here). Seal and store in the spice drawer/cupboard.
This makes a fully flavoured but mild chilli. Add extra heat to your taste.
Usage
4-6 tsp per batch of chilli for 6
Storage
Store as you would any other jar of dry seasoning, in a cool dark cupboard. The use-by date is the shortest date on the ingredients. If stored correctly this all seasoning will not go off. It will simply start to diminish in flavour if you keep it for years.
Shake before use.
