Servings: 160 ml (2/3 cup)
Prep Time5 minutes
Total Time5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp oregano - dried
  • 2 tbsp basil - dried
  • 1 tbsp thyme - dried
  • 1 tbsp black pepper - ground
  • 2 tsp paprika - regular, or smoked for extra flavour
  • 2 tsp parsley - dried
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chilli flake - add more to taste
  • 1 tsp fennel - optional, to taste

Instructions

  • Gather your ingredients and put everything in a clean, dry bowl. Mix together thoroughly.
4 tbsp oregano, 2 tbsp basil, 1 tbsp thyme, 1 tbsp black pepper, 2 tsp paprika, 2 tsp parsley, 2 tsp sea salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp chilli flake, 1 tsp fennel
  • Transfer your pizza seasoning mix to a clean dry jar with a lid that fits tightly. If you have a jam funnel, this will help to avoid any spillage.
  • Seal and store in a cool, dark place, ready to use to perk up a dull pizza, or add to homemade crusts. Shake before using as the contents may settle.

Notes

Different brands of herbs / spices vary wildly in heat and flavour, and freshness makes a big difference to depth of flavour. You may need to experiment to find your favourites.
Generally speaking, the fresher your spices, the better.
Store your seasoning in a cool, dark place. It may eventually start to lose potency if kept for years rather than months, in which case you will need to increase the quantity you use.
