Bonfire Cupcakes

I am currently full of cold, and really not in the mood to do anything; certainly not blogging.  All I want to do is to plonk on the sofa, under a blanket and catchup on some television.

However I had made these for my bonfire night post, and despite them not being my finest cake decoration effort thought they were quite fun to share?

And if you love cupcakes, then you need to try my dark and stormy cupcakes!

I used my bung-it-all-in-a-bowl-and-mix Easy Peasy Ginger Cake as the cupcake base, substituting 50ml of the water with Kraken spiced rum.

Whip up a batch of buttercream, using rum in the place of the milk, colour it orange and pipe onto the cakes.  Broken up chocolate batons make logs.    I am sure you can do far better than I did.

Enjoy.

Many thanks to Kraken for my bottle of rum. I shall go and have a medicinal tot.

I hope you’re feeling better soon – colds are just so miserable. I love the look of that ginger cake – super simple and it looks so soft and moist. Bookmarked :-)
